Fords Cougar
Anyone know how to install car audio speakers into a 1996 Ford Mercury Cougar?
I used to own a 96 ford taurus as well and installed speakers in that, the cougar seems slightly different. How do I get the panels off the rear speakers without breaking anything? And to open the door panels do I just use a panel tool? Any additional information would be great, I do believe my speakers i put in my taurus will fit in the cougar.
If the rear panels are giving you a hard time, make sure the speakers don't come out through the trunk. Sometimes on rear speaker grills they use hot glue and stuff like that to keep them down. When I replaced the rear speakers in my bonneville, it was tough getting my speaker panels off in the back because of hot glue, but the panels were still made to be removable. Yes use the panel removal tool and start at one of the bottom corners, remember to be very careful beause the grills will have tabs that hold them in place and the tabs could break off if you force the panels off too quickly.

I am thinking about buying a Ford Cougar 2.5 V6 24V 3dr Coupe because it was such a good drive?
