This BMW M5 was tuned so it is a better comparison.
I just did a youtube search for M5 vs. Zo6 and could not find one race that was even close.This is just a bad comparison.
A better comparison would be a stock C5 Zo6 vs. a stock M5 If you know any M5 owners in VA i can set it up. I raced one when my car was stock and it was a very close race. I had him by about a full car at 130mph. Then he shut it down. Of course most bmw fans wont believe that so that is why i ask for a race if you know someone.
Lets compare apples to apples people.
Ok what? I wasnt insulting the M5. Its a great car. Just not what i wanted. I wanted a daily driver "track racer". Which the M5 is not and the Zo6 is. Thats all im saying. OK.
Btw.. i dont get this comparison. Its implying an M5 is in the same league as a C6 Zo6 which it clearly is not. Not stock vs. stock. Check out the stock quarter mile and 0-60 times for a 2006 M5 and a 2006 Zo6. For those that are in the dark, you will be enlightened. Case closed.

If i wanted to take my girlfriend out to dinner, I "might" prefer the BMW. . However, if I just wanted to enjoy sheer unadulterated performance and handling there really is no comparison. I had an M5 and now drive an 03 Zo6 as my daily driver. Yes the M5 was respectably fast, but my Z I drive now is a totally different breed. Its raw in a very exhilerating way.
Its funny how most comparisons are against "stock" Zo6's. A real world fact: most guys never leave their z stock. :)

You can buy a stock M6 for the price of the much anticipated ZR1.
why not its only fair, i say i really like BMW have driven 4 diffrent (read owned) butt i have also owned vettes as a pure sports car if you dont have to carry people around it would be a vette, and now they offer everything from a stock 430 hp c6 to a 650 hp ZR1 worst case junkies , take the car to lingenfeelter and take out about + 1000 hp.

Tuning vs non tunig really isnt intressting at all its like comparing apples to pears.
beacouse then we can say oh yeah your M6 kellners was a bit tiny bit faster then the z06 so the ZR1 is out soon so its bye bye again for 100.000 usd thats 600.000 SEK , what kind of new BMW do you get for those money ???
nothing whith 650 hp and a 0-60 in 3 flat...
if we talk tuning take a c5 lingenfelter 427 tt does 9,5 out off lingenfelter ;-) on 402 m that is.... standard c6 2008 is 430 hp just to ad.
BMW just might :) Or we just have to tune them a bit, see the Kelleners Sport BMW M6 vs Z06 :D
