i turned this on just as he started reporting it, and seeing "Dale Earnhardt Jr. Injured in crash" i went "OH SH1T!!!

to leobold1 (in an interview he said he thought someone was helping him out of the car but the saftey crew told him they didnt help. earnhardt said it was his dad helped him out of the car.

The track worker's job is to flag the course, not to get the drivers out. As soon as the fire flashed, one of the guys did drop the flag and go help him. Its the driver's job to get free, and absent a fire, its the rescue crew's job to get anyone out of the car, they're the ones trained for it.

Um...one of the track safety pulls him the rest of the way out of the car, after Jr made it most of the way out. From what I remember (and I'm going from memory since I can't find that later interview anywhere) he said he got mostly out of the car and then was helped the rest of the way out.

If you look at the video it looks like he kind of gets pulled out.

The track workers should be professional too see them standing around shootin the shit while Dale has to wake up, realize he's on fire, undo his belts and get out. If that door didn't open he's a dead man. The only thing that scares drivers is fire.

Redneck? Dale Jr is not even close to being a redneck. The fact is that he is one of the coolest most down to earth people I've ever met or got an autograph from. I don't understand where you're coming from with that one man.
