they will be making a lighter version called the GTR spec V , and theres a company called Top Secret that already has a 525hp GTR, the engine has more potential but not until the cars "blackbox" is hacked that would allow the engine to be modified.

GTR will be fast because it's computer operated AWD doesn't have to slow down around turns as often as any of the cars mentioned. GTR has the weakest engine mentioned and is very heavy. The GTR is a good car though and can beat the average Italian crap. I love the GTR but I hate fanboys.
You have no idea as to what you are talking about. The Z06 has a 7.0 litre V8 that is made of and ALUMINUM alloy and upholstered by magnesium. It is mounted further down and lower back into the car. The actual Z06 is lighter than a F430.
And the ZR1 is gonna be lighter. The ZR1 engine is smaller than the Z06 engine!
Believe it or not the GTR is the heavy. It weighs about 700lbs more than the Z06. It's only 200lbs lighter than those heavy ass Mustangs. lol

Actually it's only 480hp. It's only a V6. Even if it is twin turbo that's not enough to make up for it's weight.

DOHC engines have hemispherical combustion chambers with the spark plug in the center so the flame front moves evenly during operation, resulting in more complete combustion. Even the new LS7 heads are basically the same old wedge shaped combustion chambers. Writers praise its improved flow-for a 2 valve head. But these improved heads cant outflow heads with 4 or more valves per cylinder...

The Z06 gets equal or better mileage than cars of the same performance. The Z06 gets 16mpg city, 26mpg hwy. While the F430 got 11mpg city, 16mpg hwy. Like you said the LS7 ($14,500) costs a lot less, as I found out, than engines of equal performance. I also found out the Mercedes 6.2L DOHC V8 engine costs $56,000! Just imagine how much the F430 engine costs.
DOHC engines weigh also weigh more. Also OHV engines can get just as good fuel economy, look at the Gen 5 LS series engines. They can have VVT and DI just like a DOHC.
Why did an OHV engine win motorsports engine of the year last year? The top engine builders in the world voted for it. An entire Corvette Z06 costs less than most of the engines the LS7 beat.
Oh, and I know of a bunch of OHV engines that make 1000hp per liter. Way to not know what you are talking about.
The real hillbillys are the GM engineering team. Still making OHV engines? How they managed to continue to be made in the 21st century boggles the mind. DOHC engines are superior in Horsepower/liter, Fuel Economy, Emissions and every other aspect, except they cost more to build. I guess it is all about profit, not building good engines.
Correction. The GTR was using production-specification Bridgestone RE070 Runflats.

That's right missionbrent and that was the prototype Nissan GTR at Nordschleife, not the production version. And it was likely using slicks, not street tires, to achieve 7:38.
Yea except the Z06 did it in production form with it's old rear socks. The new ones are said to be much better.
Just to remind you the production version isn't out. No one has bought a GTR yet, so you still don't know what the final production version will do. So that ring number means nothing until it is done in a production car.

LOL, people on here actually think the GTR will be faster than the ZR1, lol. It won't even be as fast as a Z06. It is slated to have around 450hp and weigh 3600lbs. More comparable to the LS3 C6 vette.
Even if it were true that hillbillys drive vettes, I would rather be a hillbilly and drive a vette than a fanboy that drives an over-priced playstation on wheels.
The funny thing is these people cracking on the vette cause it is an american car, sure its got the chevrolet name on it. but underneath it is mostly eourpean design. And it is one of the fastest cars made for the money. 500 factory hp for under $80k you cant really beat that. I do hope the gtr is fast enough to keep up with its legend. i really like both of the cars. ive driven the z06 now i wanna see what the nissan has.....
