Yep, police cars like those top out around 120 to 130mph so at 165 they'd be goooone.. And as far as how he lost control, it looks like he went too far to the left and was maybe going to hit the grass, and ended up over compensating with his right turn and break causing him to loose some rear wheel traction and skidding.

Porsche's of the same age did the exact same thing under the exact same circumstances, if anything they were worse about oversteer under engine-only deceleration. That's one of the big reasons the Turbo went to AWD, and they put that nifty spoiler on it that elevates at speed.

I agree, no way with how close those cops are. The funny thing is that he probably lost control because he let off the gas as he came up along the second truck, decompressing the rear-suspension and causing it to fishtail.
