They don't. To build a small block V-8 producing over 600hp would cost more than what their budget calls for. It can be done, its just an expensive project. By the way, stop hating on the ZR1 just because it can turn your Viper( and ACR) inside out! The Viper is a great car! Lets just be happy that us Americans have produced a couple of cars that have all the Europeans VERY nervous! Its about time!
the new ZR-1 not z07 is a 6.2(smaller than the ls7) liter positive displacement supercharger, and its 620hp that 100hp per liter... and is around 100k
I did read that as well. I have a friend that works for the GM design team and recieved the info from him. I was probably told something to throw me off. To all I doubted, I am sorry. If the engine were to be N/A, it would be bigger than the 7.0 liter in the current C6 Z06. Supercharged or not, it will be very fast!!
You are quite wrong. Last time I checked (about 3 weeks ago) the corvette SS SUPERCHARGED engine is running approx 647 hp, is a 6.2 liter unit. This is widely known by many... hp figures at GM are conservative. the most power out of a N/A Z06 is currently 650 crank hp with a 700 lift cam, and other good'n'nasty internals.
Idiot??!! Go fuck yourself. How did talking about cars turn into you, you stupid fuck, insulting me. Get a life you cock sucking bag of shit.
The new Viper's price is just a tad over $83k, NOT $100,000. Also, you're an idiot to think that the new Corvette will not have a supercharger, especially since the Vette design team has already stated that it will not be normally aspirated.
The info was given to me by a friend of mine who happens to work for the GM design team. Right now they are almost set on the power plant for the new z06 however, he also told me that they are still making changes almost on a daily basis.
frutsak , im a Z06 fan too , where did u find this info?
The stock heads on the Z06 have a higher flow rate than the heads on the race car. As a Z06 fan, its still hard to beat the Viper! : )
The new Viper will have a price tag of over $100,000.00. It has a 600 horse power/600 lb tq 8.4 liter power plant. The new Z07 will have a slightly larger motor that the C6 Z06 and it will not be turbo/supercharged. The new motor will infact produce 660bhp and a top speed of 220 mph.
Making up a point? Please child you lack any serious knowledge about cars or the working ability to search the internet or read for that matter. That isnt my problem, and Mopar has never used a GM block for Le Mans they are still using their PRODUCTION block. And you still lack the ability to search the internet even though Ive already provided you with links. Like I said you will never be able to beat my points simply because you have none.
Making up shet to try and de-thron The General is not gonna help you with you-tubbers like myself who actually who has reliable resources to back up facts. With that thats my last discussion with you until you adult and stop acting childish and saying juust anything to make a point. Goodbye ;-)
making up crap to prove a point, yeah, good idea. Im not attacking Im just revealing that a debating with you is like debating with my 12 yo nephew. BTW did Mopar come up with their own block yet or are they still using the GM developed Catipilar block?? Do your homework first my freind!
Hey look its supaspowt that got proven wrong time and time again by who else me. YOu cant beat my arguments so you attack me thats brilliant. Cant stand being proven wrong then get some real facts.
yeah , hes bottomless , but so is da fukin internet . need shit , look it up .
Wolverine quit it, this guy(dcsdr) has more useless nonfacts than you can stomach trust me, hes bottomless wit it!! He has an answer for evry thing even if its the half truth - LOL
As for the new viper it wont cost 90k itll still be in the 80s Dodge has already released statements to its costumers that there will only be a slight price increase if any. And those vettes you talk about the Blue Devil and z07 all plan on being built with superchargers so obviously they do need a S/C to make the same horsepower.
No no no the z07 is a corvette that may come into existence, hell the blue devil hasnt even been released yet its all conjecture if GM will actually build these cars muchless release them. The ACR concept was purpose built to beat the rumors of the SS just search 2008 dodge viper mopar concept.
and i havent seen anything aboat that acr concept , tell me where you found that.
vette doesnt need a superchager to get 600hp plus . and by the way i said the 2008 600hp viper will cost 90,000 . i just saw in motor trend that the z07 will have around 700hp and weigh less than a normal z06 ,beating that acr concept . itll kill an enzo either way .
As for the supercharger the new corvette will not only cost more but it will already have a supercharger compared to the viper which has more HP and no supercharger and costs less (the ACR will be under 100k) so slap a S/C on the viper and your looking at a car with over 800HP.
1800 vipers produced ever year compared to the 40k corvettes. Thats what your paying for, the z06 is a great car and probably best bang for the buck but the viper will still be the best sports car and considered an exotic unlike the corvette which has been reduced from its legendary status to just another everyday car.
As for money, its not only buying you performance in the viper (which costs 78k not 90) your paying for exlusivity, after market potential, and the awe factor essentially. Its the same reason people buy a ferrari 430 when you could buy a z06 for half the price.
The new corvette z07 will be a supercharged 6.2L 600-650HP corvette for 100k if I may add this corvette has yet to release any official numbers. Dodge has already out done this corvette with the ACR model viper aka Mopar Concept 675hp/650torq 3000lbs ALL MOTOR viper.
08,viper wins.what about 09 zo7/ss.650hp,annihilates the viper .plus,90,000k 600hp viper vs 70,000 z06 .10k for a supercharger and headers,10k for the best tires you can get, cost is the same and z06 is as fast as if not faster than the viper . |
