Yes. It is a built LS2 402 and there is lots done to the car in addition. It since ran 800hp at the tires on the same dyno with bigger turbos and a boost increase. However, I have not been able to get the shop to send me that vid.
Was anything else done to this car besides the STS? The exhaust sounds particularly mean for having silencing turbos in there
thats not what the stats say though
So by your logic the S2000 is the best car ever? I know what you mean, but a much stronger argument would be power-to-weight ratio. Also, factor into the equation few of either of these cars will remain in stock form. I don't think there's any argument that there is "no replacement for displacement" when comparing the engine, and cars platform for potential, which is what a Corvette truly is for. Amazing stock, yes, but far, far, from it's limit. Show me a 1000hp commuter BMW and prove me wrong.
Wow! The internet's most contradicting douchebag. YOU were the one who was talking shit about GM and gas mileage. Seriously?
I never said anything negative about either of those manufactures. I used the Prius for a gas mileage comparison (which is Toyota not Honda) and the Miata could be any car. My emphasis was meant to be placed on the "rainbow-thumping" fragment, because that's what you are. Gay. And not the dresses nice and smells good gay, the trendy my daddy doesn't love me repressed gay.
So everybody that likes BMW's or Mazda is gay??
It's people like you that is causing GM to go out of business!
You and your redneck closed mind is the reason why most of the people now a days dont even bother with GM products. Because they have to deal with losers like your self!! So instead of dealing with pencil dicked redneck fags like you, they just walk over to Honda or Mazda where they get treated with respect... sorry you're such a fuck stick.
I don't need to be 16 to understand you're gay.
And I drive a Z06, you rainbow-thumping Miata jockey.
when you turn 16 and get your drivers licence, you will understand. lol
If you base your decision on a car based on mpg buy a Prius you tree-hugger. That's the slightest concern of anyone who has actually invested in one...
Also, do some research, the Z06 gets 28 mpg. That's more than your Miata, yeah?
it get 12 mpg...thats how, a 7L z06 gets 8mpg more than it
Actually moosmann the E92 engine is a "technological masterpiece". It's only a 4.0liter that produces 414 bhp. That's 103.5 hp per liter! And the Z06 whith its huge 7.0 liter has 505 bhp, which is only 72 hp per liter..Don't get me wrong, they are both incredible cars.
less moving parts though and a hell of a lot easier to tune.
M3 gets better gas mileage all around in various conditions,
my buddies 327 hit 9500 rpm all the time he has shifted at 11000rpm he hasnt heard a thing out of it yet
I think it's laughable that people laud European V8s over the classic pushrod small-block chevy engine. Consider this - the E92 M3, with its "technological masterpiece" of an engine makes less power, less torque, costs just as much if not more, and gets significantly worse gas mileage than the pushrod-engined C6 Z06. Funny how that works...
dohc do not make hp, they just open valves just like a pushrod engine. by the way there is no problems with pushrods. havent broken one yet at 7500 rpm
Yes, but think how much better it would be if it were dohc.. That's all he's trying to say.
DOHC is better technology plain and simple.
Rocking levers, as in "rocker arms"?
its a BEAST!!!!! god that thing is sexy...
The STS twin turbos actually make the car a billion times more fun. Well done!
ебал я в рот
Pushrods are not necessarily bad. Compared to the ford 32 valve v8, the ls1 is physically smaller and lighter, and the pushrods are adequate for the 6000rpm or so it runs. Also, pushrods allow a much simpler head design which is cheaper to produce.
it is just the reality that pushrod engines exists in the 21 century... and you wouldn't say, that pushrod engines sucks if you just drove once a corvette c6 z06....
classic? hardly.. more like obsolete.. hell euro cars had singe and dual overhead cams since back in like the 1930s, though were sparse by comparison today but they were ahead of their time. pushrid engines work only as diesels but as gasolines they suck.. it's the 21st century. not the 19th.. get with the program people
just to remember, this engine has just 1 camshaft, it's an OHV-engine (Over Head Valves), the valves are driven by push rods and rocking levers and all classic american 90° V8's are built in this (old) layout |
