He went to the GM School of High Performance Driving in Phoenix, Arizona (Yes, this is a real place and there's a real high performance driving school. Don't believe me? Look it up). I'm just guessing he did.
complete mastery. man and machine.
Jesus 1:06 he had it airborne
I think there was a strong headwind preventing him from reaching a higher speed.
7:29:03
The GTR only got &:2:03 zr1 destroyed it
lol not bad thought it woulda hit 200 tho wat a pussy hahaha lol nah it was ok lol
Long live pure American Muscle. The Gtr is still just a Nissan with a V6 turbocharged. JUNK!
I want an independent test done with the corvette and GTR. and the cars must be from a dealership lot, not manufacturer PR cars.
Haha this guy is one of my family friends.
gtr destroy the zr1 hahahahahahahahahahahahhhahaha hhaha
i bet sabine could shave off 5 to 10 secs off his time
he did have a heavy headwind on the main straight... they should have Sabine Schmitz do laps for every car... that way we'd know the true lap times for each car... skill levels vary too much from driver to driver. That's why Top Gear got the Stig!
I KNOWW!!!
and he didn't even heel-toe-downshift!
:/
he could have gotten a much better time!!!!
I've watched this video a couple of times now. I'm not an expert on "The Ring" but it seems that Jim Mero could've gotten quite a bit more out of the ZR1 on this track. He missed a number of apexes and wasn't always on the gas properly. Speaking of that, can anyone tell me why he never got above 178, even on that very long last straightaway? He only had the revs up to around 5300. Considering the ZR1 can do 205 on the flat I would have expected to see at least 190-195 here.
sorry dude, it isn't... it is simply not as fast of a car. Nissan has no plans to beat the ZR1 in production form.
What a nescient remark.
You DO know that the GTR is eaten alive by the ZR1 on the Nurburgring? This lap isn't as nearly as good as it can get. Just wait.
how does that smell to the ultra-exotics? something with pushrods and a f/r layout smokes them like a pack of MARLBROS!! LONG LIVE DETROIT MENTALITY!!!
NISSAN R35 GTR is going to destroy the GM vette
and if it is.....i expected more...as did GM talked about more....
this isn't the ZR1...its a stock Z06
As somebody who knows Corvettes well,I'd like to see a lap at the hands of Jan Magnussen now.If you really get into it there are whole seconds just frittered away through engaging corners too quickly and missing apexs like they're going out of fashion. The car definitely has more in it than that.
gp900bj>>I tried looking for the controversy and could not find it any where so if you could be so kind as to show me where this is posted because as of right now Pistoheads has said nothing short of calling the new Corvette Phenomenal.I think for some people to actually say that this is an American Super Car is kinda hard even to the point of choking up and tearing up, specially those GT-R fans! WOW what a show of phenomenal engineering. Thank You
GM's Tadge Juechter has finally admitted that the ZR1 used to run the ring was a heavily modified ringer: "We used full racing slicks and C6R suspension" said Juechter. Pistonhead's promptly and accurately documented this shocking news. Earlier this month the respected Roundel magazine verified that the ZR1 used to run the ring was indeed producing 993hp. With such conclusive evidence that GM has lied about their ring times, how will anyone ever believe them again? It is really quite sad.
themuzaA is correct. If you don't believe him, just read the latest Nissan Motorsport mag, why do you think there was zero sound? because they didn't ant you to hear what the car really had on it. |
